He had a somewhat ADHD type behaviour through school, always the class clown and up for a joke. His grades were average, at best, but he was a definite performer and loved attention. It was his high school guidance counsellor who suggested he could get into children's entertainment for a career, and with that as food for thought, he scored his first job as a guide at Movie World, a Warner Bros movie themed amusement park on the Gold Coast. He loved it, and along with his love of the beach and surfing, he was pretty sure life was peachy and couldn't get better. However, he got bored of the job easily, and soon joined a troop of children's entertainers for birthday parties and events. Always loving singing and strumming a tune on his guitar, Lance assumed the alter ego of the Singing Superman, where he dressed up like Superman and sung kids' songs at parties. He was once again in his element.
But it was a day out with his large bunch of friends that had him being dared to audition for a talent show, similar to the X-Factor, when they spotted the audition lines waiting for a bus to take then to Dreamworld for the day (yet another theme park they all had season passes to). It was either audition for this or Big Brother, so Lance - never one to turn down a dare - took the challenge boldly... and got through. Of course, it was the brunt of jokes from his mates when he auditioned with Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down, playing his guitar and nailing it. When he got through, he panicked and nearly turned the whole thing down. He was curious to see what would happen, though, and ended up going right through to the finals. It was there the judges selected him, with four other guys (Leighton Kent, Jasper Cho, Axel Beckett, and Chase Walker), to form a brand new boy band, Electricks. It was a giant WTF moment for Lance. He was the last person who fit in a boy band, right? But the other guys were awesome, and when it all just fell into place, how could Lance deny the ride?
It only got better when they were pegged as the supporting act to superstar, Angel Shaw with his international tour that was expected to totally go off. And it did, and despite having a number one single in Australia with their first released song, their popularity soared internationally working with Angel. It was nothing how Lance expected his life to play out, but he went all Dead Poets Society up on that shit. Carpe diem, for the win! They are now moving to New York City with their international popularity rising by the minute. Lance will go with any flow just so long as he can stay himself and not get bored.
Lance is a larrikin and never really did grow up. He likes reading comics, infuriatingly quoting geeky movies when watching them with others and scaring the shit out of people for a laugh. Practical jokes are his forte and the only time he really sits still is when he's sick, hungover, or exhausted. He's a night owl and generally not a morning person. He's the type of friend who will give you the shirt of his back, but he can also be a huge pain in the ass too, but anyone who knows him is affectionately long-suffering of it. He has adopted the Electrick band mates as honourary brothers, which means he would probably die for them, but also that they are inflicted with him for life, no questions asked. Lance is bisexual, if only because he'll give anything a go and has always been attracted equally to both sexes. He's had a couple of relationships, but had to split with his girlfriend of a year when he joined the band her jealousy reared its ugly head. He felt better off not dealing with that crap that could hold him back, and the rest was history.
